The butterfly effect is a phenomenon in which small changes can lead to large and unexpected changes. I practiced Mother’s Love Language for a week, and through Mother, I felt as if I experienced the butterfly effect.
Although the language of Mother’s love has been around for a long time, we have been unable to put it into practice, either at church or outside.
However, I resolved to participate in the winter student camp every day and practice the words of Mother’s love. Although I couldn’t even say the basic “hello” properly, I could say “hello” to the bus driver, convenience store staff, restaurant owner, etc., and everyone was warmly welcomed with bright smiles. It was amazing how even a small word can lead to big laughter.
Additionally, I reflected on the words and actions that I normally overlooked simply because I was close, and I often said to my friends, “That’s great, thank you, it’s thanks.” When my friend was having a hard time, I comforted her with words of Mother’s love, saying, “You are doing really well,” and “I will cheer for her.”
By practicing all week, my friends also said kind things to me, and I created an atmosphere of consideration and support. I’ve come to realize that if I take action first, I see many changes happening around me.
At church, I reflected on my careless words and spent a week practicing the words of Mother’s love, reflecting on my words and deeds over the past week, strengthening my relationship with the sisters.
It was a short week, but I noticed a definite change. We will continue to practice Mother’s language of love. I also resolved to become the first to try anything.
