My family has 4 people, of which my father returned to God's heart 3 years ago after a long struggle with cancer, my mother works far away so there are 2 sisters living together.
A month ago was Mom's birthday, because I was busy with work and couldn't do anything special, the two sisters only had a little time to go together to choose a dress as a gift. When I wrapped it up yesterday to make sure it was safe to transport to a place more than 2,000 km away while still keeping the box intact, I thought carefully and decided to spend a little more time making a birthday card. And luckily! The gift box containing the dress already had decorative floral motifs, so I just wrote more compliments and encouragement to Mom - who has always worked hard and sacrificed far away from the family so that we can have a more comfortable life. I finished wrapping the gift and sent it with the sincere hope that it would be transported safely and on time, because that day was close to her birthday and the expected arrival date would be past the due date. But then, like a miracle of Heavenly Parents, touched by the hearts of the two sisters, the gift box arrived on time and was still intact without any dents. My mother was very surprised, touched and happy with the gift from the two sisters. And it had been a long time since Mom had a new dress, because Mom had always saved every little bit of money to send home to pay for my school fees and the expenses of the two sisters instead of saving that hard-earned money for herself.
The other day, Mom sent gifts to my two sisters on the occasion of an acquaintance coming to our locality. When I opened the gift bag, I was very surprised to see an additional envelope. When I opened it, there was a lovely card with a picture of the three of us. On the back of the card was Mom's handwritten words:
“To my two little princesses! I hope we can reunite soon 😄 I love you so much ❤️ - MOM”
I was so touched and encouraged when I saw Mother's handwriting.
Indeed, the times are becoming more convenient and modern, so people can easily buy luxurious material gifts in a short time. However, in this era, handwritten letters containing love and sacrificing time to convey the heart are still the most valuable gifts and leave a lasting emotional resonance, not just in the moment of receiving the gift.
