Every day, I cook for my younger sister before she goes to school. However, this week, I caught the flu so it became difficult for me to continue doing so. Today, I woke up to find a plate of bacon and eggs already prepared by my younger sister. I couldn’t help but put on a big smile.
Then I remembered today that today is sister Aly’s (my best friend and churchmate who’s just living next door) exam day. So instead of eating it alone, I decided to share it with her along with a glass of matcha latte—something she just recently loved drinking. When she saw it, she smiled warmly and said ‘Thank you!’. Before I left her room, I told her “I’ll pray that you may do well on your exam!”.
Through this simple act, I was able to practice the principle of paying it forward. Because I receive kindness and grace every day, I want to share that same kindness with others. I hope that this year, I can practice this more and live a happy and thankful life.
